Stella Korfia obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 2022 from the University of Ioannina, in Greece. In her bachelor’s project, she focused on the photocatalytic degradation of phenolic compounds using perovskite-based catalysts and simulated solar radiation, under the supervision of Prof. Ioannis Konstantinou. Following her graduation, she completed a 6-month Erasmus+ internship with Katja Loos, exploring synthetic routes for furan-based and isosorbide-based polymers and determining their chemical and physical properties. In April 2024 Stella joins the Lerch group to conduct her Master’s research project, focusing on the alignment of liquid crystalline monomers in magnetic fields.
