Falko Volbeda

Falko earned his BSc degree in Chemistry from the NHL Stenden Hogeschool. During this time, Falko specialised in polymer chemistry via internships at Senbis Polymer Innovations, BASF and Anker Stuy Verven, where he worked on a biodegradable polymer blend for mussel socks, modifying amphiphilic resins and developing a novel interior topcoat, respectively. Afterwards, Falko completed his MSc in Chemistry at University of Groningen, where he performed his first research project under supervision of prof. Kamperman to research liquid crystalline complex coacervates to develop a more efficient underwater adhesive. For his second research project, Falko joined the Lerch group to investigate the synthesis of monodisperse starch-based nanoparticles for structural color applications.
